The New York Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has announced that the state will implement Metrc as its seed‑to‑sale system instead of BioTrack as initially planned. OCM completed an assessment of both systems and determined that switching to Metrc is in the best interest of New York’s regulated cannabis market. OCM and Metrc are now developing a project timeline, with a targeted integration go‑live in early 2026. This announcement does not remove the requirement for licensees to maintain an electronic, real‑time inventory tracking system.
